Five classic albums by the Moody Blues will be released in Super Audio CD 5.1 Surround Sound this March in the U.K. The Surround Sound SACDs will arrive as Deluxe Editions of the group's original albums and will include Days of Future Passed, In Search of the Lost Chord, On the Threshold of a Dream, and A Question of Balance. Pricey? Somewhat because they have to be imported.
If the US arm of the label was somewhat less brain damaged, they could have accomplished those deluxe 2 disc releases for $16.00 here.
Don't want the extras? Surely another release in 2008 sans extras would be par for the re-release course...

Pricey, true, but I really like In Search for a Lost Chord, and will pick this up to hear it in high res, not to mention extra tracks.

This is excellent, excellent news. However, why the second disc? Alternate versions of the songs and BBC sessions - who cares? The consumer is going to end up paying nearly twice the cost.
