Eric Clapton SACDs with extra track-age

This week, Universal Music provided some additional information on the three upcoming Surround Sound SACDs by Eric Clapton. Universal says that the albums 461 Ocean Boulevard by Clapton and Layla by Derek and the Dominoes will feature "a new SACD Surround Sound mix by the current Eric Clapton production team of producer Simon Climie and engineer Mick Guzauski and totally remastered SACD and CD Audio Stereo programs. Bob Marley Burns one down in Surround

Bob Marley & the Wailers album Burnin' is one of three new Surround Sound Super Audio CDs slated for release in November from the Universal Music Group. Bob Marley Added to SACD Plans This weekend's revisions to the Universal Music SACD Release List involve moving Michael McDonald's Motown Two Surround Sound SACD from October 26th to November 9th and moving up Andrea Bocelli's Surround Sound SACD entitled Andrea from the Coming Soon list to an in store date of November 9th. The most interesting SACD release news this week involves the addition of Bob Marley & the Wailer's album Burnin' to the list of Surround Sound SACDs due out on November 9th according to Universal Music's New Formats web site. Earlier today, the Surround Sound SACD edition of the classic album Layla by Derek & The Dominoes was added to the Universal Music Group's Upcoming Release List. This monumental album is often cited by critics and fans alike as one of the greatest guitar albums ever released. The Universal Music Group started off September with a bang by adding 11 new Super Audio CDs to their list of upcoming releases. Included in this week's additions to the SACD Release List from Universal are two of three long-awaited Surround Sound SACDs by Eric Clapton, the five remaining albums from the first batch of Mercury Living Presence SACD Remastered Series discs and four additional Classical Music SACDs. 2004 Surround Music Award Winners

Tuesday night, at a gala event held at The Highlands in Hollywood, CA, the winners of the third annual Surround Music Awards were announced. The event took place after a busy day of conferences and exhibits at the Surround 2004 conference. The evenings highlight came from an all-star tribute performance for 2004 Surround Pioneer Award recipient Herbie Hancock. The band was made up of top jazz performers, including George Duke, Ndugu Chancelor, Wallace Rooney, Alex Al and DJ Disk, who treated the audience to a medley of Herbie's most loved songs.
